For your peace of mind, for most cars with an original retail value of under £20,000 (i.e. when brand new) we offer the option of purchasing a £100 MOT guarantee.  The average cost of getting a car through MOT in England is £326.85.  If you decide to opt for an MOT guarantee, we promise you will pay no more than £325 to get your car through MOT (including the cost of the test itself) - because we will cover any additional costs that may arise.  It’s a simple, non-profit idea whereby we put that ‘fee’ in a pot which we can then use for any additional repairs (parts and labour) that might be required for your or anyone else’s vehicle. If your repairs cost less, you pay less, but you’ll never pay more than £325 (including the guarantee fee).  Our only conditions are that we oversee the repair process (i.e. the car is prepared on site or at one of our preferred garages) and that you must opt for the guarantee at the time of purchase.  The guarantee includes all failures and urgent repairs - that is ‘repair as soon as possible (minor defects)’, but does not include everything, i.e. ‘monitor and repair if necessary (advisories)’ although we will of course be happy to get these sorted for you at cost if you’d like us to.  Essentially, if repairs cost less than £325 you’ve lost money (depending on the cost, anything up to £100 because you didn’t need the guarantee), at £325 you’ve broken even, but any required expenditure over £325 will be saved.  The aim is to give you peace of mind that if you would like one, your new car will have a new MOT provided and you have taken the worry out of the unpredictable costs that this can involve.
